The University of Immaculate Conception (UIC) reached another academic milestone as they received AUN-QA Certification on their programs in March 2023. The following programs were certified after a thorough assessment:
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
The certification took place in 3-days, beginning from the opening program on March 28, 2023, to the closing ceremony on March 30, 2023, at UIC-ITRC Training Center.
Dr. Jo-Ann Y. Solomon, the Planning and Quality Management Officer, discussed the program assessment application’s preparation, which began with several meetings. She stated that the sessions involved a comprehensive review of the four programs based on the 11 criteria, utilizing a 7-point scale rating.
She shared the collaborative approach at UIC in overcoming challenges. They embraced shared responsibility by forming a Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Team for each program. The members were allocated specific responsibilities tied to the 11 criteria of the program-level assessment. The engagement of team members extended beyond task assignments; they actively participated in crafting the SAR and gathering evidential components, fostering a comprehensive and collective effort in addressing challenges.
The effort and cooperation of university personnel made this milestone possible. Throughout the process, the QA office, deans, faculty, staff, and students work hand-in-hand to encourage and motivate each other.
UIC offers other AUN-QA-certified bachelor programs like Secondary Education (English, Sciences, Mathematics, Filipino), Elementary Education, Business Administration, and Psychology.
