Senior High School

The DepEd’s K to 12 program design for Senior High School includes a core curriculum that consists of ten earning areas (Language (English and Filipino), Literature, Communication, Mathematics, Philosophy and Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Physical Education and Health), contextualized Track Subjects and Academic Track. UIC meets the requirements of this core curriculum, having achieved a record of excellence based on its adequate laboratories for students’ workshops, strong and complete human resources, and school buildings with adequate classrooms. These resources have been audited and aligned with the various needed for K to 12.

UIC’s Senior High School Program offers CHRISTIAN LIVING in consonance with its being a Catholic School that provides Catholic education.

UIC offers its Senior High School Students the following Tracks and Strands:

Academic Track:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) with ROBOTICS
  • Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS)
  • Accountancy, Business, Management (ABM)
  • General Education
  • Technical- Vocational- Livelihood Track
  • TESDA courses, with National Certificate Level II (NC II)

Further, as envisioned by the K to 12 Program, UIC’s Senior High School curriculum is ladderized towards the existing college programs. UIC is offering three (3) tracks with the respective strands to prepare and encourage the graduates to eventually enroll in UIC undergraduate and graduate programs.

UIC Senior High School students are qualified to receive an Annual Government Vouchers Subsidy for School Fees stipulated in DepEd Guidelines.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM AND STUDENTS DEVELPMENT PROGRAM

The UIC Senior High School believes that the optimum development of an individual is achieved when the curriculum is designed to provide each individual with different opportunities where skills, talents, abilities, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being are the heart of the intended curriculum. To realize this, the following programs are provided:

  • Academic and Sports Varsities
  • Supervised Homeroom-Guidance Program 
  • Comprehensive Guidance Services that covers Career Coaching, Counseling, Individual Inventory, Placement and Follow-up
  • Enhanced Library-Research program in support of students’ Researches and Investigatory Project
  • Hybrid Curriculum (Non-Tech-Voc students can take any TVL subjects as part of their SHS Curriculum)
  • Music Elective (Drums, Electric Bass Guitar, Piano, Viola, Violin and Voice)
  • Robotics (all Grade 11 students have the opportunity to experience this program while Grade 12 STEM and ICT students have Robotics as their specialized subject)
  • Summer Training for academics, sports, and skills development

Senior High School students are provided with opportunities to participate in the division, regional, national, and international competitions in both academics and sports.

UIC SHS has produced national winners in the National School Press Conference and international gold medalists in Taekwondo.

Campus clubs and organizations are organized to facilitate the development of students’ skills and interests.
