Congratulations to the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) students for successfully completing the International Community Engagement for Development (CED) 2025 program in Surabaya, Indonesia!
Ms. Christelle Marie Sierra (College of Accounting and Business Education) and Ms. Stefani El Joy Lasay (College of Teacher Education) not only earned their Certificate of Completion but also brought home the prestigious Award for Best Project Output!

The week-long event, which took place from July 22 to 29, 2025, was organized by the Faculty of Business of Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic University (UKWMS). The program gave UIC’s student delegates valuable hands-on experience working with local SMEs in rural Indonesian communities. Through this, they were able to enhance products with innovative ideas and leverage social media for effective promotion.
Adding to the enriching experience, participants also took part in cultural activities where they learned to play the traditional Indonesian musical ensemble Karawitan and perform a local dance.

We also extend our congratulations to Dr. Lyneth O. Villarba, a professor from UIC’s College of Accounting and Business Education (CABE), for completing her role as a Visiting Lecturer and serving as a Panel Adjudicator for the CED project presentations.
