UIC Holds Capacity Building on Gender and Development Under Aftercare Program

The University of the Immaculate Conception Community Development Service (UIC CDS), led by Dr. Corazon Umblero, held a Capacity Building on Gender and Development Program on July 26, 2025, at the ITRC, UIC Fr. Selga Campus.

This initiative is a key component of the UIC Kaduyog Sagop Kinabuhi Aftercare Program, which aims to enhance the understanding of Gender and Development (GAD) concepts and guidelines, with a specific focus on the GAD Focal Point Systems. The sessions also sought to provide a venue for participants to raise concerns regarding the program’s implementation.


The resource program speaker was Ms. Sadie D. Law-Ay, an Associate Professor III at Davao del Norte State College and a member of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Regional Pool of GAD Resource Persons in Region XI. She delivered a lecture on the Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System, focusing on the Gender Mainstreaming and Evaluation Framework and the Guidelines on the Establishment of a Committee on Decorum and Investigation. Mr. Ronaldo A. Rivera, Consultant and Main Facilitator of the UIC Kaduyog Sagop Kinabuhi Program, also delivered a message.


Participants included staff from the Human Resource Office, the Office of the Vice President for Academics, and the Office of the Assistant to the VP Academics for Student Affairs and Services. Also in attendance were the heads and deans of the various departments and colleges, as well as representatives from the Office of Student Affairs and Discipline, the Guidance Office, and the Office of the Discipline Coordinators for the Basic Education, Higher Education, and Graduate School. Additionally, Personnel Club Presidents and Students’ Government Presidents from both the Basic and Higher Education levels participated in the activity.
