The University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) recently enhanced its global presence by attending the 10th Batch Evaluation Meeting of the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher) Project at Universitas Brawijaya in Malang, Indonesia, on August 5–6, 2025. During this event, UIC also proudly renewed its partnership with Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya (UKWMS) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Representing UIC at the SEA-Teacher meeting were Dr. Lolly Jean C. Simbulas, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, and Mr. Rene M. Babiera II, Director of External Relations and Internationalization. The event was a valuable platform for exchanging best practices, sharing experiences, and strengthening cross-cultural learning among Southeast Asian institutions.

Mr. Babiera also represented UIC in the MoU signing with UKWMS. This collaborative milestone was further enriched by the presence of our sister schools from the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) Teacher Education Institutions: St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc. and Pilar College of Zamboanga City, Inc. Representing these institutions were Christopher M. Pulmones, Director of International Relations and External Linkages of SMCTI; Mr. Charles Nathaniel S. Shia, Internationalization Coordinator; and Mrs. Gina E. Barrios, BED Principal of PCZC.

UIC extends heartfelt congratulations to our fellow RVM Teacher Education Institutions for their active role in fostering international linkages. This collective effort showcases the strength of our shared mission to elevate the quality of education, champion cultural understanding, and inspire innovation in teaching and learning across nations. Together, we continue to expand the horizons of our students and faculty, proving that excellence knows no borders.
