The University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), in partnership with the City Government of Davao through the City Health Office, proudly opened the Public Health Research Forum with the theme “Public Health in Action: Transforming Ideas into Impact” on August 20, 2025, at GR 4, UIC Bonifacio Campus.
Dr. Emma V. Sagarino, Director of the Research, Publication, and Innovation Center, delivered the opening
remarks, setting an engaging atmosphere for insightful presentations and discussions.
The forum featured presentations by researchers from UIC Psychology, tackling issues such as death attitudes, bereavement experiences, barriers to mental healthcare, self-esteem and mental health, and the romanticization of depression on social media. The objective is to translate these research findings into actionable policies and projects for the City Government of Davao, through the City Health Office, to enhance public health services in Davao City.
