BS IN NUTRITION AND DIETETICS PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

After completing the four years of BSND education, the graduate is expected to:

1. Demonstrate knowledge, application, and integration of principles of health promotion and disease prevention with normal nutrition, medical nutrition therapy and public health nutrition for varied population.
2. Develop beliefs, values, attitudes, and behavior for professional practice.
3. Apply principles of food systems, food science, and techniques of food preparation.
4. Integrate scientific information and research into practice

BS IN HOTEL AND RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the BSHRM at UIC, students will be able to:

1. Apply sound functional principles in the operation and management of hotels, restaurants and other related hospitality institutions;
2. Manifest dynamic leadership and participation in the hospitality industry through enhanced knowledge and skills inculcated from formal instruction, culinary laboratory hands-on experience, internship through local and international linkages;
3. Possesses a multi-cultural perspective in the arts and sciences of hospitality management.

BS IN TOURISM MANAGEMENT PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Program Educational Objectives:

The BS in Tourism Management Program will equip students with competencies related to the basic and core requirements as well as those associated with major and minor areas of concentration and elective courses. Specifically, the graduates:

1. Formulate sound developmental programs for the community in collaboration with various stakeholders.
2. Perform effectively in various functions of tourism organizations and enterprises and;
3. Access and disseminate accurate and detailed product knowledge and destination information.
