The University of the Immaculate Conception’s College of Music (UIC-CM) brought the magic of cinema to life with its annual concert, “Celluloid Dreams: A Symphony of the Silver Screen,” held on March 5, 2024, at the Main Auditorium, Bajada Campus.
From the iconic OPM melodies of “Pagdating ng Panahon” to the timeless classical pieces like Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” and “Moonlight Sonata,” the night was a showcase of musical excellence. Audiences were also captivated by breathtaking film medleys, including “John Williams Medley,” “Mission Impossible,” and “James Bond Theme.” Adding a touch of magic, the concert featured beloved Disney classics, such as “Frozen Highlights,” “The Lion King Medley,” and music from “Wicked.”
A heartfelt highlight of the evening was the moving performance of “Uncharted Waters of Faith,” also performed during the 75th Jubilee of the Archdiocese of Davao. The song is an original composition written to portray the RVM Sisters’ journey in bringing Catholic education to Davao.
Performed by the UIC Ignacian Orchestra, BM Ensemble Bands, and soloists, the night was a spectacular tribute to the power of music in storytelling.
