About UIC

Welcome to the University of the Immaculate Conception!

The University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), the first Catholic school in Davao City, has crossed the centennial threshold as an educational institution.

UIC was founded by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) in 1905 as the St. Peter Parochial School, initially offering only primary and intermediate courses. In 1934, the school opened a secondary department and assumed the name Immaculate Conception Academy. With the first batch of high school graduates in 1938, it was renamed Immaculate Conception Institute.

It was granted University Status in 1992; it has remained steadfast in its mission to provide Christian and quality education relevant to the demands of the time and focused its vision on a transformed society where persons live their dignity as children of God.

Existing now for over a hundred years, UIC is recognized as a premier and leading University in Davao City, Philippines. With its banner: Allied Health, Science and Technology, Information Technology, Engineering, Education, and the Arts and Sciences, UIC is moving towards ASEAN integration, internationalization, and innovation as its contribution to transformative education geared towards continuous excellence and life-long learning with a purpose.
