Global Connections in Care: Global Care Nursing Exchange Program (GCNEP) 2025

The University of the Immaculate Conception’s College of Nursing (UIC-CN), in collaboration with the External Relations and Internationalization Office (ERIO) conducted several lectures for the 4th day of the Global Care Nursing Exchange Program (GCNEP) 2025 Phase 2 on February 27, 2025 at the Mini Auditorium, UIC Bonifacio Campus. The following speakers shared their knowledge on their respective topics.

  • Associate Professor Dr. Lee Siew Pien
    Topic: Children’s Voices in Healthcare
  • Dr. Siti Hazariah Abdul Hamid
    Topic: Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health: A Dual Responsibility for Families and Health Systems
  • Dr. Chen Mei-Yen
    Topic: Empowering Healthy Ageing: Community Nursing Approaches in Taiwan
  • Mr. Pedro Robledo
    Topic: Development of Universal Health Care in the Philippines


When asked how collaboration empowers students and professionals in the nursing field, Dr. Ashikin Atan states that the program is “a good platform for delegates, students, and academicians […] because we can exchange knowledge and also experience.”

On the 2nd day of the program, February 25, 2025, the group organized a community immersion at Barangay Buhangin, Davao City, to observe public health services and data management within the barangay. This was followed by special class sessions with UIC students on the 3rd day, February 26, 2025.


The Global Care Nursing Exchange Program (GCNEP 2025) is a multi-phase initiative designed to deepen global health integration, foster cultural competency, enhance clinical expertise, and promote collaborative research among nursing students and professionals worldwide. Activities included clinical workshops, collaborative research discussions, and exposure to diverse healthcare settings, highlighting
local nursing practices and innovations.
