Best Paper Award Given to ITE Faculty in the 18th Philippine Computing Science Congress

PCSC_presentationLast March 15-17, 2018, the Computing Society of the Philippines (CSP) conducted the 18th Philippine Computing Science Congress (PCSC2018) at the Capitol University, Cagayan de Oro City. The congress covered topics on Artificial Intelligence, Affective and Empathic Computing, Natural Language Processing, Theory and Algorithms, and other Computing topics such as Networking and Pervasive Computing. Plenary presentations featured candidates for Best Paper where one of them was our very own ITE Faculty, Ms. Kristine Mae Adlaon. Of all the candidates, Ms. Adlaon was the lone presenter awarded with the Best Paper Award! She and Dr. Judith J. Azcarraga of the De La Salle University authored the paper entitled “Dimensionality Reduction of Feature Word Vectors for Sentiment Classification of Philippine Political Related Tweets,” which found favor with the PCSC2018 judges and participants who are mostly composed of computer scientists and researchers. Congratulations to Ms. Adlaon!
