UIC Student Artists claim Most-in- demand Booth Award in Art For Everyone 2017

University of the Immaculate Conception student artists join the 3rd Art For Everyone 2017, a 5-day nationwide student art affair held simultaneously in SM Mega Mall, SM Aura Premier, Mall of Asia, SM City Dasmariñas, SM City Baguio, SM City Clark, SM City Cebu, SM City Bacolod, and just this year in SM Lanang Premier Davao City last August 23-27, 2017 which is first in Mindanao.

With the guidance of Mr. Asisclo III Abonado as the Faculty Coordinator and through the assistance of Mrs. Sonia Morales External Affairs Coordinator, the student artists showcased their traditional and digital art masterpieces on the ground floor of SM Lanang and received the Most-in-Demand Booth Award for being the school with the highest number of sales.

The 5-day art affair organized by the Artistespace Inc. and in partnership with the Marketing, SM Supermalls supervised by the Senior Vice President  Mr. Joaquin L. San Agustin not just exhibiting the artworks of the young artists but also conducted workshops and talks led by invited Mindanao Artists.

Mr. Joel Geolamen recipient of Mindanao in the Philippine Art Awards (2013) gave a workshop about “The Potentials in Drawing” and  Prof. Abraham Garcia, Jr. gave a talk on “Reimagine the Filipino Soul: Eclectic Possibilities in Minda/Now” last August 27, 2017.

“Art for Everyone 2017 inspires young artists to engage meaningfully and help them grow professionally and creatively. It allows them to reach their audience and glimpse of the artscape. It is a source of inspiration.” said Prof. Abonado while receiving the certificate of recognition acknowledging his efforts on supporting the student artists from UIC.
