FAAP GRANTS INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION TO UIC

The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) awarded INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION to the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), affirming UIC’s high level of quality in all aspects of its operation.

 

More, three UIC programs namely Liberal Arts, Elementary and Secondary Education, and Business Administration were granted LEVEL IV accredited status, which as the highest accreditation status given under comprehensive criteria, grants full autonomy to the accredited programs. These three programs’ milestones encompass  LEVEL IV accredited status for eight UIC course offerings namely B.A. Philosophy, B.A. Communication Arts, B.A. Psychology, B.A. major in English, BS Business Administration Major in Financial Management, BS Business Administration Major in Marketing Management, B Elementary Education, and B Secondary Education.  The distinctions were granted based on UIC’s accomplishments on the areas of research and linkages, instruction process, community service, and quality assurance mechanism.

 

In her speech during the institutional Christmas bonding, the University President S. Ma. Marissa Viri, RVM, especially thanked the heads of the mentioned areas namely Dr. Renan Limjuco for research, Dr. Thelma Alderite as the former Dean of Education Program, Dr. Corazon Umblero for the Community Development Services, and Dr. Jo-ann Solomon of the Quality Assurance Office. The UIC Institutional Accreditation and Level IV Accredited Status are valid until November 2019.

 

UIC is just one of few HEIs in the entire country that merited the Institutional Accreditation with highest level accredited programs. In addition, UIC has Level II accredited status for BS Pharmacy, BS Computer Science, BS Information technology, and BS Information Systems; Level I for BS Accountancy, BS Medical Laboratory Science, BS Computer Engineering, BS Accounting Technology, and BS Nutrition and Dietetics; while a Candidate Status for BS Hotel and Restaurant Management. The Grade School and the High School Departments of the institution likewise hold Level III Status.
