VIETNAM UNIVERSITY VISIT

Faculty members of the Education Program underwent a benchmarking activity at the state University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam on March 25-27. The UIC group that traveled to the Southeast Asian city included Dr. Thelma Alderite, Dr. Jo-ann Solomon, Mrs. Emma Ramos, Mr. Rene Babiera, Mrs. Gelsa Dragon and Dr. Porferia Poralan. Vietnam National University Rector, Dr.Le Kim Long himself led his officials in welcoming the group. He was assisted by the Dean Faculty of Teacher Education, Dr.Ton Quang Cuong, Dr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Head of Science and International Relations Department and other members of the Education Faculty. The conference lasted for one hour, with both parties exchanging best practices through power point presentations. At the end of the conference both parties promised to forge a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities.

MORE BENCH-MARKING PLANS

It has been planned that this coming October 31-November 4, the Education Faculty will join another Institutional-initiated benchmarking activity to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The group plans to visit the National University of Singapore and a university in the Malaysian capital.
